2010 events... Join us for our monthly Sundowners - first Thursday of every month. General meetings are the third Tuesday of every month. Board meetings are the last Tuesday of every month. Our next First Thursday Sundowner is Thursday, September 2 at Rock & Rita, Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, 2880 Las Vegas Boulevard S, Las Vegas, NV 89109 at 6pm. The next “big one” to open on the Las Vegas Strip is The Cosmopolitan and NEWH Las Vegas held an exclusive event to check out the progress! It began with a walk through the low-rise public area to what is known as The Feature Bar to announce the 2010 NEWH Las Vegas Board. Thanks to Perini Building Company for setting up the event and allowing up to be the first to see the progress as the finishes start to install!
Scheduled to open late 2010, The Cosmopolitan boasts two towers (50 and 52 story), 140,00 sq. ft. of ballroom, convention and conference space, 265,000 sq. ft. of shopping and dining, 44,000 sq. ft. of luxury spa area, 22,000 sq. ft. of nightclub and ultra lounge overlooking the Strip, and a five-acre outdoor facility with various beaches, European-style bathing, multi-level bungalows and cabanas!
Despite the rare rainy Vegas night, we had over 70 people in attendance. With our hard hats, safety vests and protective glasses on, Past-President Barbara Bradley thanked the 2009 Board and graciously introduced the 2010 NEWH Las Vegas President, Kelly DeWees.     |
